Mr. Lizarraga

Hi, my name is Esteban Lizarraga and I’m excited to be a part of the team at Citrus Hill High School as principal.  My first teaching experience began, in the Val Verde USD, as an impact (intervention) teacher at the elementary level and then taught social studies at the middle and high school level. I became an assistant principal, in the Jurupa USD, at a middle school and then a principal at an elementary school. I returned to Val Verde to serve as an assistant principal at Citrus Hill High School and then principal at Tomas Rivera MS. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in History at California State University of Fullerton, my teaching credential at Chapman University, and my Masters of Arts degree in Educational Leadership at California State University of San Bernardino. I am blessed to be married to my amazing wife Jacquelyn and father to our three wonderful sons, Micah, Oliver, and Gideon. I am honored to be a part of a learning community at Citrus Hill that is committed to establishing a school culture which recognizes no limitations in the achievement and success of each student.

I have been in education for 20 years, joining the Val Verde family in January 2017.  I deeply believe in the necessity and importance of training one's mind, body, and soul.  I love testing my own physical limits and am a huge MMA and Jiu Jitsu fan and practitioner.

I was born and raised in Placentia California.  I attended Cal State University Fullerton obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing.  I enjoyed working in the business world, however I found the volunteer work I did with teens within the church to be much more fulfilling.  I went back to school and obtained my teaching credential and then my Masters in Educational Administration from Cal State LA and clearing my credential at UCI.  In 1996 I began teaching Middle School in the Los Angeles Unified School District where I also taught at the high school level.

I began my career in Administration in the Fall of 2005.  I have had the opportunity to serve as an administrator at both the Middle and High school Levels.

I am blessed with a lovely wife, son, and daughter who spur me on to be the best man that I can be.

I am very fortunate to be able to support and encourage the students and staff at Citrus Hill HS so that they may be successful professionally and personally.

My name is Kristal Cullivan and I am very happy to continue another year at Citrus Hill High School. It is a pleasure to serve the Mead Valley and Perris communities as an Assistant Principal.

I started my third year as a teacher here at Citrus Hill in 2008. Within a few years I began working as our site bilingual facilitator and EL program monitor. This allowed me to work with our parent group ELAC and our EL students. In 2016, I became an Assistant Principal here at Citrus and have enjoyed serving the community in that role since that time.

I grew up in Moreno Valley so this community has always been my home and will remain very special to me. I believe that education can transform a person's life and that is why I am here. I was the first person in my family to go to college and I have seen first hand how powerful the impact of education can be. After I graduated from Moreno Valley High School, I attended the University of Arizona to obtain my BA. Later I attended CSUSB to get my teaching credential and finally Concordia to earn my MA. I look forward to an amazing school year! Stay Classy!
