2015 Citrus Hill Wrestling Achievements
Citrus Hill wrestling ended the season with a very successful state meet. While this year we did not get that elusive top 8 finish and All State status we did however have two wrestlers Joel Villa and Anthony Vargas finished in the top 12. Both set new highs for our program. Each won 4 matches and lasted to the second day of competition. Damian Bacajol completed the tournament with 3 wins and finish in the top 16. Norberto Buenrostro wrestled extremely hard in his two tough losses but will look forward to competing next year.
Additionally Anthony Vargas was nominated and presented with an Outstanding Sportsmanship Award prior to the finals of the State Championship Matches. He is one of only 12 wrestlers in the state to be honored.

To make the California State Championships is a huge accomplishment. Our Wrestlers will be among only 38 athletes per weight class representing over a 1000 schools in the state that wrestle. Our state has no divisions and is considered the toughest state meet in the nation. These wrestlers will be competing in Bakersfield on Friday and Saturday at the Rabobank Arena.
